The administration of the Campaign for Justice will transition from the Maine Justice Foundation to the civil legal service Providers (Pine Tree Legal Assistance, Legal Services for the Elderly, Maine Equal Justice, the Immigrant Legal Advocacy Project, and the Volunteer Lawyers Project) at the end of 2023. The Cumberland Legal Aid Clinic, at the University of Maine School of Law, also benefits from the Campaign, but it is not involved in the administration of the Campaign. This change is meant to be administrative only; it is our collective hope and expectation that the Campaign for Justice will continue successfully, without interruption, in 2024 and beyond. Your contributions will continue to increase access to justice by supporting civil legal aid.
In order to facilitate this change in administration, the Maine Justice Foundation will be transferring all donor data and historical files to the civil legal service Providers for ongoing administration of the Campaign. We are providing our donors with advance notice of this intention, in order to offer time for you to ask any questions or raise any objections prior to the data transfer. As such, if you wish to opt out of this data transfer or if you have any questions, please contact Michelle Draeger at mdraeger@justicemaine.org by November 14, 2023 at noon.
